Monsoon has arrived in Pune, lashing the heat waves out of the city and soothing the environment. But, sitting back in your den is not an option, lions! Move out with your friends, your better half or whosoever is ready to be a part of your amazing trip to some of the best places to visit in Pune during this awesomely romantic season. Here, we list down the best three destinations which are a must-visit! So let’s go!

Lohagad Fort

This place is surrounded by lush greenery and a soul-refreshing aura. But most importantly, you need to trek to get the best out of this place. As you go up, the view starts to get more astonishing. Well, stamina matters as the stairs are not the usual ones! They’ll drain all your energy. But as you come downstairs, you get good stuff to eat and garam-garam chai to rejuvenate yourself.

Pawna Lake

Not that much famous, but this place is situated between Lonavala and Lohagad fort. The serene climate with the blend of backwaters is what makes it worth a visit during monsoon. Just sit back at some lake-side tapri or a resort of your choice and have a gala time with your company! You can go for horse-riding and boating to a small-island kind of point which is a tremendous joy.

Distance from Pune: 62.6 km (1h 44 min) via NH48 (only 4-wheelers allowed), 52.0 km (1 h 43 min) via Paud Road

The first thought that comes to your mind when you hear Lonavala…. “BIG BOSS ka ghar!”
Well, I tried to find it but I couldn’t. Anyway, I am not at all interested to find a place which I cannot explore! So it is better to visit “ONLY LONAVALA”. The best place in Lonavala is the Lion’s point. You can visit this thrilling place at anytime: be it day or night. You’re always going to find crowd here. The night is the best spent here ;).

Distance from Pune: 76.4 km (1h 44 min) via NH48 (only 4-wheelers allowed), 52.0 km (1 h 43 min) via Old Mumbai-Pune Highway

I advise you to take total care of safety along with enjoyment. The roads to all these destinations are a-bit risky and not maintained (except the one to Lonavala, it is awesome!). Apart from that, you need to take care of the hairpin-bends, so please do not show your riding/driving skills during monsoon because you have the responsibility of your company and someone is waiting for you at home!
